Battersea Bridge House is a new, purpose built, independent low secure hospital. It will provide assessment, multi-disciplinary care, on-going treatment and focused rehabilitation for up to 22 male patients aged between 18 and 65 years old. The Hospital benefits from a central London location with 22 en-suite bedrooms and landscaped gardens.
The service model is based upon the provision of person centred care and sensitive treatment for individuals aimed at improving mental health, reducing and eliminating inappropriate behaviour and risks and replacing them with appropriate patterns of coping, problem solving and improved personal and social skills. The care pathway subsequently increases opportunities for people to return and contribute to successful living within the community.
After initial telephone screening any patient referred to Battersea Bridge House thought to be suitable for the services will be assessed within 48 hours. Ideally all patients referred to the service will be admitted after a period of transition. However, the hospital can and will accept emergency admissions.
We provide services to people who have a primary diagnosis of mental illness, who may have complex needs such as a learning disability, a history of offending behaviour or who exhibit behaviours that are challenging.
The multi-disciplinary team have a comprehensive assessment process which commences on referral and proceeds through admission and progression along the care pathway. Criteria for admission includes a diagnosis of mental illness, suitability for a low secure environment and confirmation that Battersea Bridge House has the pre-requisite services and facilities to support and meet the needs of the individual.
Battersea Bridge House has an experienced and committed multi-disciplinary team including a dedicated psychiatrist and senior medical team, an active and skilled psychology team, experienced mental health and learning disability nurses, a busy social work department and a dedicated team of health care support workers.
At Inmind we place great focus on looking beyond the hospital site. It is important that our patients are able to engage in a wide range of community activities that as far as possible mirror normal experiences. This includes further education, sports, shopping and leisure activities.
Following comprehensive multi-disciplinary assessment we will work with individuals to develop individualised treatment plans focussed upon risk reduction and maximised opportunity.
We will provide programmes of treatment and support which focuses on each individuals potential progressing them towards a return to living in the community or stepping down to our open rehabilitation units, Southleigh and Woodleigh which are situated in Croydon.

Battersea Bridge House is situated within landscaped grounds offering a secure and city location to both patients and visitors. Located near Battersea Bridge the hospital is easy to access by car and has excellent public transport links with Clapham Junction Train Station only 15 minutes away. Clapham Junction is linked to Gatwick, London Waterloo, London Victoria and most of the South of England. It is also part of the London Overground network launched this year and is due to be part of the new rail link on the East London Line.
